Momentous Movement in Our Leadership

We are so grateful to have enjoyed Doug Woodman’s (left) leadership as the Chair of our Board for many years. Now it’s our pleasure to welcome John Hillenmeyer (right) into the role as Doug steps down to become one of our Trustees.

As we start a new fiscal year at the Heart of the City Foundation, we’re excited to announce some changes (and constancy) in our leadership. I hope this news will encourage and excite you, too.

After many years as the Chair of our Board, Doug Woodman has decided it’s time for him to step down and he is passing his role to John Hillenmeyer. We’re so grateful for the responsibility and intentionality Doug has brought to the role over the years, and we’re equally grateful he’s not leaving our team. He remains a Trustee of the Board. We want to give Doug a huge thank you for how he has led the Heart of the City Foundation.

In the same breath, we are delighted to receive John as our new Chair of the Board. He has spent several years serving as the Vice President on our Board, and he has spent his life in service of his family, the community of Orlando, and the church family of FPCO. This feels like a natural transition for us—it feels good and right to have him at our helm. If you’d like to learn more about John, you can read his bio here

Now Hardy Vaughn is our Vice Chair. He has served on our Board as Treasurer, and we are grateful to continue to enjoy his presence and wisdom in his new role. Russ Divine, who has served as our Chair of Personnel, is now doing double-duty as our Chair of Personnel and Treasurer. His commitment to the mission of the Heart of the City Foundation is a blessing, and we’re thankful for the expertise and attention he applies to his roles.

Finally, Tami Kaiser is continuing to lead as Secretary and Chair of Missions, Eugenia Sefcik as our Chair of Scholarships, Doug Doudney as our Chair of Investments, and Michelle Jernigan as our Chair of Discipleship. For several years, they have achieved so much for the Heart of the City Foundation in these roles, helping to guide us with their incredible investment of time, excellence, knowledge, and care. We’re thrilled to have them as a part of our leadership.

Now we move into another year of service, ensuring that your gifts are strategically and sustainably given to wonderful organizations and worthy individuals. Thank you for sharing the faith, hope, and love of Jesus Christ in our church, city, and world.
