End of Year Report 2024-2025
So many people helped make this year a wonderful one, from our donors to our mission partners to our church leaders. In this end of year report, you’ll see how the fingerprints of their compassion and kindness are all over so many initiatives, sharing the love of Christ with so many people in our church, city, and world.
The Heart of the City Foundation was created by the congregation of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando, and one of our great joys is honoring our founding belief that this foundation exists to sustain and extend the reach of FPCO so that our church may continue to flourish in the heart of our city, encouraging generosity in Covenant Partners. You can see in the pie graph (on the right) all the ways our donors have impacted the congregation of FPCO this year.
They helped to replace the floors in Lee Fellowship Hall, to upgrade the audio-visual and camera systems in the Sanctuary, and to provide maintenance to the Magruder Chapel. These projects rejuvenated these cherished spaces, ensuring that we all get to continue enjoying the worship services, weddings, funerals, and other events at our church.
Their generosity also made it possible for us to once again take part in the lives of the young people in the Orlando Heart of the City Fellows program and of the artists in the Arts Fellowship Orlando (AFO) program. You may have gotten a taste of their impact through reading the stories of Orlando Fellow alum Emma Allen and AFO alum Aretha Rodney-McDonald on our blog. If you haven’t read these stories already, I encourage you to do so!
We also had the privilege of awarding scholarships to 57 students pursuing undergraduate, graduate, and other education, studying everything from physiology and kinesiology to art history to psychology to elementary education. We’re excited for each of these students as they begin at their respective institutions in the fall to receive the mentorship and academic rigor they need to grow their talents and skills, ultimately sharing the love and light of God wherever they go.
Because of our donors’ investment, we also granted significant resources to 10 missions, from Orlando to Belize to Greece. Now students in grades 6-12 are receiving life-saving sex trafficking prevention education with Paving the Way Foundation, Christians in Orlando are becoming friends with and praying for their neighbors with The Flourishing Cooperative’s BLESS app, and more students are receiving Bible education through The Christ School.
Our donors’ support was instrumental in so many organizations this year: Coalition for the Homeless, Community House Damaris, Kirk of the Pines Presbyterian Church, Paving the Way Foundation, Redeeming Life Outreach, Third Mill, The Christ School, Access-Life, and The Flourishing Cooperative.
The pie graph on the left broadly illustrates how we invested their resources into the Kingdom this year. I hope you feel encouraged by this report, and fulfilled knowing some of the ways our church’s endowment has blessed people in our church, city, and world. Thank you for doing all you do to expand the Kingdom of God!
