Our Funds
Since 1979, we have been proud to be the preferred choice for Covenant Partners of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando to leave a legacy through planned giving. Below is a list of all of the funds we have established with them over the years, divided into relevant categories.
Annual Fund
This fund supports Heart of the City Foundation in all of its operational responsibilities as we work to sustain and extend the reach of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando.
Board-Directed Funds
These funds are general or undesignated, allowing the board to grant the resources where God leads.
Heart of the City Foundation Endowment Fund
You will empower our Board of Trustees to assess current needs and strategically allocate resources to maximize impact.
Dial Fund
This fund was established in 2003 from William H. “Billy” Dial's estate with priority for homeless ministries.
General Christian Education Fund
This fund supports Christian education initiatives.
General Facilities Fund
This fund supports the maintenance and improvement of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando facilities.
General Missions Fund
This fund supports Christ-centered missions in our city and beyond.
General Scholarship Fund
This fund supports students as they pursue further education.
Irene Lester Miller Endowment
Irene Lester Miller was a school teacher with a huge heart for her city—she wanted her life to be a ministry to the city, not only in her present, but also in our future. She wanted to serve her entire community in whatever ways she could. Irene was the first major donor to the Heart of the City Foundation, giving essentially all she had when she passed away.
Second Mile Fund
This fund assists individuals who are experiencing an urgent need.
Tami Kaiser Mission Fund
Jim Kaiser started this fund in 2026 in memory of Tami Kaiser. It supports Christ-centered missions and ministry in our city and around the world.
Wallace & Julia Mercer Memorial Endowment
Julia Mercer established this fund in 1984 in memory of her beloved husband, Wallace.
Church Facilities
Hardin Endowment
This fund was established when the First Presbyterian Church received approximately $1.6 million in a bequest from the Margaret and Miriam Hardin sisters in 2005. The Session approved directing the funds to the Heart of the City Foundation as a memorialized gift from the Hardins, to be used periodically for specific capital needs as they arise.
Magruder Endowment
This fund supports the maintenance and improvement of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando facilities.
Vaughn Facility Endowment
Hardy Vaughn started this fund to support the maintenance and improvement of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando facilities.
Formational Programs
Benzing Camper Endowment
This fund provides funding for teens to attend trips, retreats, and mission trips through First Presbyterian Church of Orlando.
Senior Ministry Fund
This fund supports Senior Ministry activities at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando.
First Presbyterian Church Opportunity Fund
This fund supports First Presbyterian Church of Orlando-related ministries.
Matthew Bodine “Gift from God” Memorial Fund
Taylor and Cindy Bodine started this fund in 2025 in memory of their son Matthew. It supports middle and high school students in their spiritual growth by providing opportunities to learn more about God through Christian camps and other formational experiences through First Presbyterian Church of Orlando.
Mabelle O’Neal Trust
Mabelle O’Neal was a Rollins College alumna, librarian, and member of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. Before her passing in 1975, she established the Mabelle O’Neal Trust, which uplifts First Presbyterian Church of Orlando ministries and provides opportunities for Christian education.

Earl K & Mary L Wood Fund
This fund was established from the Wood estate to fund ministries whose mission is to alleviate poverty and care for the homeless.
Kids Across America Mission Fund
Joe and Eugenia Sefcik started this fund to provide funding for transportation to annual Kids Across America summer camps.
Adoption & Pro-Life
Mary’s Fund
Sallie Douglas started this fund to support anti-abortion and adoption ministries.
