Sydney can now fully focus on her education
Sydney Chamberlain was working long, hard hours to pay for her education at the University of North Florida. She didn’t know how she was going to balance working full-time with learning full-time. But through our donors’ generosity, she is stepping away from her job to focus on school.
Sydney was a medical scribe in the ER. She was working 40-50 hours a week. Her work was overwhelming enough, and she was stressed trying to figure out how she was going to add her education in exercise science at UNF on top of her work.
She didn’t know how she was going to make it work.
Bright Futures helped to cover a lot, but with rent and other school expenses, she was working her hardest to bridge the gap. But her situation wasn’t ideal or terribly functional.
When Sydney received a scholarship from the Heart of the City Foundation, she felt like it was confirmation that God would provide and she could step back from work to fully focus on school. She was relieved!
She says, “This past year I was accepted into the Exercise Science program at the University of North Florida so I am excited to finally start taking major-specific classes and meet like minded people. Upon graduation, I want to go onto graduate school to earn my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I am involved in Young Life College but with COVID-19, last year looked different so I am excited to resume group gatherings as things return to normal.”
Through the support of our donors, the support of her parents, and by the grace of God, Sydney is learning to trust God more and more fully with her life. We are thankful for how our donors are encouraging and advocating for her and dozens of other students like her!
